This track has been a long time coming; covid attacks, mental health struggles and other life changes and complications really slowed the process.... but here it is!
This song is meant as an audio cuddle. Written for myself as much as anyone listening, I hope it gives you the same warm feeling.
Big love and thanks to my friend and music partner JP Phillippe, this track would sound totally different without him!
lyrics
What’s been going on?
Yeah I’m sorry that it’s been so long
Hoping all we made together stayed strong cause I spent so much time just holding on
What’s been going on?
I’m sure we never meant to get so withdrawn
Finding ways of getting up to get on and dreaming ‘bout that world beyond
Coming back to find you’ve been so modified, do we expect to turn it back now it’s been gone?
Getting close again and then to my surprise you reach back in my heart to find it’s open wide oh.
Guess we’d forgotten that there’s not so much to fear, there’s things in life that never disappear, we’re right where we belong...
There are moments when the horror of it all comes flooding back to me
Still kind of broken but I do believe I’m coping after heeding as the last, what life was trying to show me from the start
Love love love love love love love love love love love love love
A slow record after all the waiting
Cause I was really getting tired of faking
So helpless trying to justify day to day
I know that you’re gonna really see me
Close to breaking now I’m free and easy
This elevation got my past looking miles away
A slow record after all the waiting
Cause I was really getting tired of faking
So helpless trying to justify day to day
Free and Easy
Past looking miles away

Stairs to korea knows about music, these are not just little songs but proper compositional monuments of splendidness, and you can quote me on that! Charlywood
Woozy, rollicking indie rock that's thick and humid, searching vocals set against pealing guitars. Also available on cassette. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 22, 2016
